Free pay stub templates

Every template runs on the same calculation engine, so switching layouts never changes the numbers on the document. Pick the one that suits who is going to read it, fill in your own figures, and download the PDF.

Other layouts

  • Classic

    For lenders

The layout a bank or a lender expects: every figure on its own row, the deductions listed in full, the year-to-date column beside the current period. Pick this one when the stub is going to be read by someone who checks it against a form.

  • Modern

    For phonesView

The same document with the net pay carried to the top and the arithmetic underneath it. Reads quickly on a phone, which is where most people open a stub their employer sent them.

  • Compact

    For busy periodsView

The one to use when there is a lot to fit: several earnings lines, several deductions, or both. Rows are tighter and the sections run one after another, so a busy period stays on a single page.

The figures are identical in all three. What changes is the layout.

Check stub template

A check stub template and a pay stub template are the same document under two names, and both are on this page. The stub is the statement that accompanies the payment: what was earned in the period, what was withheld, and what was left to pay out. Whichever term your employer or your lender uses, the three layouts above are what we produce.

What the figures in the previews are

The stub above is one biweekly period of an hourly job in Texas, calculated with the 2026 federal, FICA and state withholding tables, the same way your own figures will be. The watermark is what a free download carries; the paid PDF is clean.
