Terms of service
Effective September 12, 2026
These terms govern your use of PayStub Desk. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service.
1. What the service is
PayStub Desk is a document formatting tool. It takes figures that you supply, applies published federal, FICA and state withholding tables, and lays the result out as a pay stub you can print or save. It is not a payroll provider, not a bookkeeping service, and not a party to any employment relationship.
A document produced here is a self-generated record. It is not issued by an employer, not audited, and not verified by anyone. Nothing about it certifies that the wages shown were earned or paid.
2. Your responsibilities
- Every figure you entered is yours, and you are responsible for its accuracy. The withholding lines are computed from published tables for the settings you chose.
- You must have the right to use the employer name, employee name and figures you enter — your own records, or records you are authorized to produce for someone else.
- You are responsible for whether a self-generated stub is acceptable for whatever you need it for, and for the payroll and record-keeping law that applies to you.
If you upload a logo or any other image, you confirm that you are entitled to use it on the document you are producing. We do not check that, and we cannot: a logo you own and a logo you took look the same to us.
3. Prohibited uses
You may not use this service to create a document intended to mislead anyone about income, employment or payment. Specifically, you may not:
- present a generated document to a lender, landlord, insurer, court, or any government or benefits agency as though an employer had issued it;
- state wages, hours, dates or deductions that do not reflect what actually happened;
- use the name of an employer, business or person without authorization;
- impersonate anyone, or produce documents in someone else's name without their consent;
- reproduce or imitate the pay stub format of a specific company in order to pass as it;
- scrape, resell, or automate the service beyond ordinary personal or business use, or attempt to bypass rate limits, payment or the watermark on free documents.
Creating or submitting falsified pay documents is a crime under federal and state law. It can also constitute loan, wire, insurance or benefits fraud. We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement. We may refuse service or terminate access at any time, without refund, where we believe these terms are being broken.
4. No tax, legal or financial advice
Withholding figures are calculated from published tables — IRS Publication 15-T, the Social Security wage base, and each state's withholding guide — and are estimates for the inputs you gave. They are not tax advice, and they do not account for everything that shapes an actual paycheck. For some states no withholding table fits our calculation model; those documents say so on their face, and a zero there does not mean no tax is owed. Consult a tax professional before relying on any number here.
5. Free and paid documents
Every document can be generated and downloaded free of charge with a watermark across it. The same document without the watermark is what is sold, and it is sold as a file rather than per pay stub: $4.99 for a single stub, up to $9.99 for a run of 5 periods generated together. Prices are in US dollars, the price you are charged is the one shown on the button before you open the checkout, and there is no subscription and no recurring charge of any kind.
Payment is taken by Lemon Squeezy, not by us. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for the purchase: they sell the file to you, they handle the payment and any tax on it, and the charge on your statement is theirs rather than ours. Your card details are given to them and never reach this site. What we receive back is that the payment succeeded, for how much, and the email address to deliver to.
6. Delivery and how long a document is kept
A document is delivered as a signed download link on screen. A free document, and the figures behind it, are deleted seven days after they are created, and the link dies with them. Download and save your copy within that window; after it, we cannot recover the file and you would need to generate it again.
A paid document is kept longer and delivered twice over: as a link on screen when the payment goes through, and by email to the address the payment carries. A download link is good for 24 hours. The file itself, and the figures behind it, stay for 30 days from the payment so that the document can be corrected and downloaded again within that window, after which they are deleted along with everything else.
7. Refunds
Thirty days, money back, and no explanation asked for. Write to support@paystubdesk.com within 30 days of the payment, or reply to the receipt Lemon Squeezy sent you, and the purchase is refunded in full. This is the same promise the generator makes beside the price, and it binds us on both.
A refund ends the licence to the file it paid for: the download link stops working and the unwatermarked copy is deleted. The free watermarked document you generated stays available on the same terms as any other free one.
The refund is paid out by Lemon Squeezy, since they took the money, and it goes back to the card or account it came from. If you see a charge you do not recognise, it will name Lemon Squeezy rather than PayStub Desk. Write to support@paystubdesk.com before disputing it with your bank, and we will find it or refund it.
8. Availability
The service is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uptime. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it. Where a paid document is not delivered because of an outage, the refund terms published under section 7 apply.
9. Ownership
The data you enter stays yours. The document generated from it is yours to use, subject to these terms. The site itself — its code, templates, layout and text — remains ours, and the templates may not be extracted for use in a competing product.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of calculated withholding, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any document will be accepted by any third party.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or consequences of a document being rejected, questioned or acted on by anyone. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the document that the claim concerns.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from documents you generated, from figures you entered, and from any use of the service that breaks section 3.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the effective date at the top shows when. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms. The terms in force when you bought a document govern that purchase.
14. Contact
Write to support@paystubdesk.com. We reply within one business day. Email is the only support channel: a promise of round-the-clock chat is not one we could keep, and a channel nobody answers is worse than none.
What the tool may and may not be used for is set out in plain words on the responsible use page.
Pay stubs are generated from the information you enter. This site does not verify employment or income, and it is not a payroll or tax advisory service. Creating or submitting falsified pay documents is a crime under federal and state law. Use this tool only for records you are authorized to produce.
